Nothing like binge-reading four books in a series (in two days!). I hate paying $5 an ebook, but made an exception as each novel are around 300+ pages each, so the reader gets great value for the money (unlike so many 200 page books of the same or higher price). Since I read these books back-to-back, each review for books 3-5 will be the same. Breene gives readers excellent plot advancement through each book, as well as character development for the main protagonists, Shanti and Cayan, and many beloved secondary characters. It would be easy for an author to lose forward momentum and hit storyline stagnation when it spans so many pages, but so far, the writer has plotted her books wisely, so the reader is always at the edge of his/her seat and the twists unfold with suspenseful regularity. I personally have started to skim some portions of the fight/war scenes, as I am losing my interest in so much combat choreography detail; but attention to detail is one of the strong points of Breene's storytelling, so I admit I read more than I pass over. Through each of the stories, the author has built the suspense for the main thread of the plot, yet each book gives a satisfying conclusion to the focus of each book-- well done.Product details

This is the third book of Chosen , and i am seriously doubting that it can become better than this.
This was one hell of the ride, i have serious problems with sleep, when i read K.F.B. books. This is sindrom of not being able to putt down the book.
This book is action packed. From the moment Shanti stepses on the ship ,to take them to the Shadow Lands, Shanti, Cayan and all of their crew are fighting for their lives. The battle scenes are so realistic I was practically fidgeting and jumping up and down in my seat. I was so relived when Cayan joined her on the island, and her chances of survivor become high. I really really enjoyed this book. Now i am waiting for the next book, and i already re read all 3 of the books.
If you like action, sex, and one hell of a journey you MUST read the chosen series.
As Shanti gets off the boat to the island to go through the trials of the Chosen Cayan feels like he should be going with her. Everyone else goes to the other side of the island to wait. But we find that a whole lot of new people are on the island and most are Graygual. Cayan does go and demands to be let into the trials to be with Shanti and leaves his team and the Honor guard on the other side of the island with certain orders. A lot happens in this well written book and several surprises. Well written and very entertaining to read.
Shanti returned to Cayan's home as she sought his help in getting to the Shadow lands. She needs his power and they are stronger together. She is being pursued by the Hunter, who wishes to capture her to elevate himself in the enemies organization. Shanti must reach the Shadow lands to go through the trials....and she must go through them alone, or does she?
Shanti, Cayan, her brother and Chance, Rohnan, along with Commander Sanders and a host of others set off towards the Shadow land to challenge her right to be the Chosen. Although another has made the claim, they know he is false. Shanti makes it there and enters the trial alone.
Cayan feels the need to be with Shanti, and joins her. It is a race against time to see if she will be successful and earn the title of Chosen, or if the trial will beat her and all may be lost. In the meantime, the enemy is growing on the island, and war is at hand. Who will win? Only reading can answer that.
These characters are delightful. They are witty, sincere and deadly. I enjoyed this book.....spent hours reading and can't wait for the next installment.
Absolutely awesome, it seems I've been saying that each book in this series builds upon the last one! The stakes were raised to the highest level so far... Fearing an Inkna to be in the trials for a chosen seemed unreal, not possible, not prophesied, Shanti had never believed in fate, but that was changing... Cayan was her powers mate, was he to be her mate? Shanti knew what Romie and she had was love but not the way it ought to have been, he was unlike Cayan in so many ways, Shanti needed both dominance and submission, as did Cayan. She had always, always run, not so as it develops with Cayan. Their power, unlike anything that had ever been seen, it seems their love would be, as well! If you like urban fantasy this is for you! Now we see why K.F. Breene is a USA Today bestseller with this series, I am not usually moved by books with romance having such a large part, but that makes sense, since I myself am and always will be a warrior. Retired from Special Operations Forces now after 33 years fighting every threat to the U.S. for the past the decades. This book called to me, and not only did it answer, it did so with a fever that burns so hot that it boils your brain! If your anything like me, you won't be able to put it down. I've read these first 3 of the 6 in the series in 3 days!!! I originally bought this as a distraction until my favorite indie author published his next book, I forgot about that, and was hoping, don't finish until I do, luckily it held true, now that Shanti is The Chosen with Cayan as well, I have to start right now!!! If this is your genre your in luck, so buy it now and get your enjoyment too. Enjoy...
Third in the series of books with Intriguing plot, great action, strong and snarky female lead character, some romance but not overdone, solid writing, and good character development.
This book ends with a really well done huge battle and the action throughout is intense, furious and compelling. This is my favorite of the series.
